<p>This August,  the brand and content studio Auracana journeyed to the U.S. Gulf Coast with Planet Green and environmentalist Philippe Cousteau to capture powerful personal stories about the BP Oil spill for the month long programming event <strong>BLUE AUGUST</strong>. Philippe Cousteau traveled with Auracana on a five day, one thousand mile trek throughout the Gulf Coast to create multi-platform on-air and digital web content that takes viewers on a powerful journey beyond the headlines.</p>
<p>“The goal for Planet Green was to capture dramatic, unscripted stories of individuals whose very way of life is threatened by the oil spill along the Gulf Coast. Auracana was a fantastic partner in creating on-air documentary and web content that expanded our month-long Blue August programming and further enhanced the Planet Green brand,” said Ben Rubin, Creative Director for Planet Green.</p>
<p>From shrimpers and fishing guides to heroic environmentalists and fourth generation oystermen; the team followed the trail of oil, spreading like a cancer, from closed fishing waters in Grand Isle, Louisiana to oil soaked beaches in Mobile, Alabama to places where oil has yet to come in the Florida Panhandle.</p>
<p>“Creating compelling content and building great brands are the hallmark of Auracana’s close relationship with television networks and entertainment companies  and this project was truly rewarding,” says Auracana’s Executive Creative Director Glenn Kesner.</p>

<p>Auracana conceived, wrote and produced all aspects of this adrenaline-fueled multi-platform campaign including packages and promos for NASCAR Raceday, the All-Star Race, the Camping World Truck Series and an image based  a &#8220;Anthem&#8221; campaign.</p>
<p>This year’s ALL-Star race continued to mirror its all-time network ratings record from last year. which included a star-studded pitch from Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne and the youngest cup series winner, Joey Lagano.</p>
<p>In 2008, when Auracana first led the on-air marketing initiative for NASCAR On SPEED, NASCAR Raceday posted a double-digit ratings roll with a 47 percent increase year-to-year.</p>

<p><span id="more-491"></span>Jumping off the “if it isn’t fresh, it isn’t legal” tagline; The Legal Seafood campaign was a huge success generating many tens of thousands of hits with targeted younger audiences on You Tube and other video sites, but it also generated a feeding frenzy from the national media who found the campaign a little too ‘fresh’.  Mittcom Advertising and PodDesign brought Auracana in to produce this tale about a bunch of fish so fresh, they’ll make you, well, just check out the Legal Seafood &#8220;Raw Talk&#8221; video and see for yourself.</p>
